20th June: With small hope for success of the Allies against Napoleon's drive, English securities fall to the lowest level on record. Spurred by the probable closure of the London Stock Exchange, banker Nathan Rothschild risks his fortune to single-handedly sustain the British economy until last minute news (via carrier pigeon) of Napoleon's defeat by Wellington at Waterloo turns the market around.
